No you can not remove the dead meat smell from a freezer. It's permanent. I did research when I got this fridge.

Quote:
"If odor-causing moisture has been absorbed by the insulation of the freezer, the odor may be impossible to remove. Odor-retaining moisture that has wet the insulation is usually the source of odor. If the interior surface has been cleaned and rinsed and an unpleasant odor still remains, you may have to replace the insulation."

During the blackout, the guy was on vacation and all the meat got fux0r3d in the freezer. I've cleaned this for weeks. Aired it out, had (and prob STILL have) 3-4 boxes of baking soda in there. The smell is not as bad as when I got it, but ice tastes bad if they are exposed in the freezer. I will try to put it in a sealed bag.

Off topic but the best thing that removed most of the smell (not all, not enough!) was putting lots of newspaper and charcoal in the freezer overnight.

How's my sig? I just made it using a pirated copy of Photoshop.

With enough support we can end the War on Drugs. It has accomplished nothing but flourish a violent $400billion/yr black market, and cost many innocent civilians their freedom/life.
