I would just like to add that there are 2 charges on my bill that are not rated per KWH. They are the System access charge and the Delivery surcharge. The System access never changes so I assume I can deduct this from the calculation but the delivery surcharge does change but there is no rate to go by so I will keep that in the equation. This makes my rate calculated at $41.70/428 which is 10.26 cents per KWH. I think thats right.
I live in a mobile home park and all my electricity comes from a large plug on a panel outside my back door. My bill says 1000W at the top. I have a full size fridge, washer and dryer in my place. Do I have the same amount of electricity coming to my place as people living in houses that are hard wired into the grid and not "plugged in"? I want to run at least a combo 600W HPS and MH setup with some T5 for clone and veg. |
Hello DemmerSlave, and everyone else, I just wanted to throw in a few words of caution. But first congrats on wanting to grow in your Mobile home/Trailer, That being said here comes the caution..
Now I'm not knocking anyone that wants to grow, but in Mobile homes and especially older ones you have to remember a few things. The first is that on older mobile homes almost all the wire in them is "Aluminum" as opposed to houses that have copper wiring.
In my opinion Aluminum wire is NOT safe for running higher watts, and on that note, It only takes seven to nine minutes for a mobile to become completely engulfed when a fire breaks out..
Now I'm not sure how old/new your mobile is, Nor am I trying to discourage you from growing, I just want to let you know that there IS a difference between "House wire" and "Mobile home wire"
A friend of mine lost his mobile home to fire, and yes it had Aluminum wire and was at fault for the fire.. Overloaded outlets with plug in heaters in the winter time.
I have pulled many a miles of wire, and in my old house it had Aluminum wire when I bought it, The first thing I did after moving in was to replace/rewire the whole house. It took six boxes (250' per box) to do this+ new receptacles and alot of sweat!!
As I sit here and write this I know alot of you may be wondering "Who the fuck is this guy?" Well I'm an OLD stoner/grower/contractor/Dad/Grandpa and someone that doesnt want to see another person lose everything.. Take care man, Sorry this is soo long winded, but I thought it needed to be said... Peace
