| Re: Can I use lemon extract to add flavor to the buds? I guess the only question that I have now is why would anyone want to artificially flavor their buds? I have some in flower, (only the indoor strain) and I've always been delighted with the different natural flavors. But then again, I don't buy weed, so maybe it's a marketing thing.
I did a bit more research, and the guy who advised a light addition of (whatever flavor) extract a VERY short time is correct, but apparently one has to be careful; of the type of extract as both lemon and alcohol, both prevalent in almost all extracts are solvents as well, so once applied they shouldn't be messed with till the solvents dry.
I have to make tea for MY mom who is in so much agony now that even the few opiates she isn't allergic too, don't help her anymore, and I use Hasmouf's method where lemon juice is used as a solvent to release the trichomes and other essential oils into the liquid which is the only way she can eat. I don't think that would matter in this case though, as I doubt there would ever be enough (added for flavoring) to break down the delta-9's or other cannabinoids. |
