transplants are easy just lightly tap the sides then flip the pot upside down and tap the bottom a little. As for separating the roots, good luck. As long as you are careful I am sure they have a good chance for survival. They might have some shock from ripping of roots and will be stunted for a time, but it's damn near impossible to keep all roots with plants even of that height during a transplant.
