| Ballast isnt working after I put in a metal halide!
I started some seeds about a week ago, and now im having all kinds of light troubles. first my 4 flouro tubes went out so I moved them under a few CFLs, I just went out and bought a 1000 watt metal halide because supposedly my system can accept both. however I just moved them under the new metal halide and the light only stayed on for about 10 seconds. it took a while to brighten up and when it finally got bright it turned off and my ballast started making a loud whirring or humming. now the light isn't turning on and the seedlings are back under the CFLs.
does anyone have any helpful input? thanks
