Re: Outdoor Grow Guide

One caution with coco pete is that it can hold too much water when used unmixed for potting up (50% max in a mix), my local hydro shop now recommends coco crop circles instead of coco pete, these are much coarser and less prone to water logging, nearly cost me some nice plants. Re-potting with a more open mix sorted my drowning plants. But your right about the ph, very stable with coco as they are stabilised to about 6-6.5 ph at manufacture.

Gonna fill my drain with rocks and gravel then turf over the top, the gravel should stop my nice soil being washed away and clogging. A small plank could also be used in drier weather to stop the runoff by blockin the entrance to the drain.

I also use the grass turves I dug out to cammo the top of my holes, I learned this with my riverside grow as it is unfortunately quiet obvious due to the yellow mulch I'm using but only visible from above thankfully. Though I had little choice as the native soil is home to lots of nettles and little else. Any ideas on how to colour/cammo the mulch?

Turves aren't too hard to dig either as the topsoil comes away from the clay substrate very easily. Luckily there are very few weeds to compete. Makes your plants look real natural.

Thanks for the input, will certainly let you know how I go with this one as all the plants in this site are nice dutch seedstock. Fingers crossed until harvest.

Keep it green.
