Who Killed Grasscity?

Who Killed Grasscity?

Grasscity, is much like any other thing that is both an ?organization? and a ?community?. We can see many parallels here as with right throughout society. We are society. We have our own little web community in that society, and so, that which is true of all society, must inherently be true of grasscity as part of society. however, its always very difficult (and potentially dangerous) to try to pinpoint that which is true of all.

Certainly it can be said that grasscity is full of really nice people, its a fairly tranquil place, and not a lot of people get worked up about things. Causes of this outcome include the efforts of the Admin & Mods, the soothing color scheme, the mellow nature of stoners & the city being almost entirely stoners (?cannabis consumers?). However, within the one aspect, the actions of the mods, (again, i must stress for fear of misunderstanding, that this applies across society, not just here in Grasscity which i'm just using as a familiar example) I put forward the argument that this does not truly aid the quality of humanity, the safety and peace of society, or whatever it is that any of us expect from the mods & admin. If our actions are curtailed, coerced and even controlled law and master, then it is not us who have improved. If the reaction to ?misbehavior? or ?rule breaking? is punishment, the precedence is set, as coming from an ?authority figure?, one who makes the rules (or at least dishes them out), or role model, that it is ok, and such a scheme will perpetuate itself long into the future given the nature of how our monkey brains learn. If the reaction to ?misbehavior? or ?rule breaking? is exile, then the problem increases in complexity and gets passed on to someone else to deal with (yahooka?). This is very similar to how many of us still deal with our household waste disposal. Stick it in a bag and throw it away. The matter is still there, just out of sight and out of mind, and go back to continuing to ignore how much waste we produce in the world. So why don't we re-use or re-cycle or re-constitute or re-condition all that we dont want and wish to throw away? because it's too difficult. Now part of that is our fault in our lazy fast lane lifestyles, but a bigger part of that is what unwanted stuff we take into our homes. do we really want a piece of plastic wrapping? for what? and once it's done that use? oh yeah, we just throw it away. What goes in must come out, and to take the analogy back and to simplify, ?Don't let others make more crap to be taken in, reform the crap you take in, and don't throw any crap out unless it's reformed?. Unfortunately, such idealism rarely meets the practical world, and so, this message will be lost, ignored or misunderstood, and so the crap will continue, of that i am almost certain.

STOP LYING TO CHILDREN.

Who killed society? Our parents and their's before them, and so on, and us, in what we do every day. We killed society. We are the tall walking monkeys of destruction. *slow clap*
