Dylan had a huge influence because he spoke his mind and showed how important and vital folk music could be. He also brought folk and rock together.
As for the Beatles, no band can compare. The Doors did not begin when the Beatles began. The Doors began oround 1966. The Beatles began around 1960.
And the Beatles released like 15 albums in America between the years 1964 and 1970! That is insane!
Plus, you have to put it all in retrospective historically!
Look at what was before the Beatles - NOTHING! Elvis was in the Army, Buddy was dead. Music was being ruled by the Justin Timberlake and Ricky Martins of the Day - Fabian, Pat Boone, Frankie Avalon.
Imagine being a 13 year old kid in 1964 and seeing the Beatles - four young men who all played their own instuments! They all sang! They wrote their own music! This had never happened before. More then any other band the Beatles caused many a youngster to get his parents to buy them that first guitar thus providing the fuel for generations to come!
