Anyone have any idea if this is most likely a check scam? I don't think i'm going to act on it, but I was wondering just in case. I heard on the news that getting a check asking for money back is usually a scam, like those emails you get from an African President or something.

It's a scam....
What they do is get
you to cash the check....you give the cash to the 'agent'...by the time the check runs through, they end up not being able to find the bank who issued it..then
your bank ends up coming after
you for the money, which you already gave away,
and all fees associated, such as the bounced check fees, overdraft fees, etc.
Either shred that letter or report it to your local authorities so others don't get scammed, as well...
