if you want to hear something fucked up, get this. the very first time i went to detox & rehab for heroin (back in '98) they were giving us a taper dose of methadone.
when after three days and the methadone was over, and you still had severe cramps and what not they'd give you darvocet! how fucked up is that? i refused to take any, and asked why they'd give a pain killer to a bunch of opiate junkies. the rehab queens answer was that the darvocet was actually a barbituate, not an opiate so it wouldn't effect our detox. i still don't know if that's true or not.
