There's a lot of sugars, a hell of a lot more than are found in molasses. Sugars aren't the same thing as molasses. Plus there's a big difference between something and the ingredients that go into it.

A cake isn't the same as sucking down a raw egg and some dry sugar and flour.

That's the same logic that's behind the myth that X% of Nitrogen is the same regardless of source, when we all know that the solubility and chelation of a nutrient play a major role in its effectiveness.
