Bubble cloners are designed for the stem to sit in the medium which is water...

Aero cloners are designed so that the stems are constantly sprayed by the medium...

The reason why aero cloners work better is that you have a bunch of super oxygenated water in the tub, then when it gets turned into mist it collects even more O2...

The Dissolved O2 is what makes the roots come out..

In abubble cloner you have just the same amount of dissolved O2 as in the tub of the EZ clonr but without the added misting (which adds significant DO)

So when you rely on the bubble splash in the bubble cloner you are getting a little more DO in the mix whch makes them root faster...but its still less efficient than the aero cloners...and by having to constantly make sure the water level is high enough is harder..having the tips in the water and the rest hit by the splash is the best method but again the level of the water right at the tips is going to be constantly going down and needed to be refilled...

You do have to top up the water in the Ez cloner but really like once ever 2 days or so..

The Ultimate would be the hybrid...where the tip of the stem in in the water all the time and the rest of the stem is constantly being misted...

Hope that helps solve your Q...any one else have any thing to chime in on this?
pretty good breakdown, a got a few things to chime in about.

you say that dissolved oxygen is what makes the roots come out. I'm not to sure bout that one, the oxygen dissolved in the water keeps things from growin in it and from the stems rotting but I don't believe it makes the plant root. The presence of constant moisture on the stem sends the chemical message to the plant that the conditions to root are there. Rooting gels and solutions have hormones and nutrients to trigger the rooting even faster. I believe that dissolved oxygen is key to keepin the plant happy while the stem is in the water but thats as far as I'd go.

If you have info regarding this, I'd love to read up on it. I'm up for learning more

I agree that the ultimate is a hybrid of both. However, with my bubble cloner, there are enough bubbles that when the bubbles pop it spits water up in the air. This acts as a mist to the stem section just above the water line.

great post overall man, very good info
