If your going to smoke the herb then it makes it dryer and thus the smoke is harsher, but for the vape I'll grind up my herb and put it in the tray I use to hold it before it goes in the vape and it'll sit their for 24 hours sometimes and I do not notice an affect on quality as far as vaping goes. But it doesn't get grinded up all at once when I get it because that would be a tedious task in itself.
