Thanks for reading, Jamtastic. I honestly wasn't sure if anybody would since it's pretty long. Anyways, I would've expected torture to be effective, too. Seems kind of like a no brainer. But on the other hand, I'm not in the military or the intelligence community or law enforcement, and here are all these people who are that are saying torture just isn't effective. I can't remember where I read the analogy, but one interrogator compared actionable intelligence gleaned from torture to a broken watch, saying "even a broken watch has the right time twice a day."
So while my gut says torture should be effective, I'm going to trust the judgement of these numerous and credentialed career military officers and interrogators and say it isn't.
