Re: Michigan Medical Marijuana Info

Hey malapickle,
I'm assuming you are also a fellow Spartan? I graduated from there last year. Anyway I am in the same boat as you; I'm planning on starting a home care service if the whole caregiver title can be applied to anyone (considering they meet the specified criteria such as no prior drug offenses, clean criminal background, etc.).
Just wondering on that your thoughts are on possibly discussing this further, maybe partner up if things work out. I put an ad on craigs list and a ton of people have already sent my their resumes so I need to get this project moving.

The ad on craigslist and it reads:

Primary Caregivers needed for Grassroots Organization (Detroit, MI) (Detroit) Reply to: job-911051828@craigslist.org [?]

As you all know, Nov.4th was a victory for people all across the United States. In addition to electing a great president, Michigan has passed a proposal which would allow those suffering with severe illnesses such as , Cancer, Hepatitis C, Crohn's disease,HIV/AIDS, Alzheimers, multiple sclerosis and the like, to gain relief through the use of medical marijuana.
Unfortunately, many of these patients will still have to go through drug dealers, as there will not be dispensaries/distributors in Michigan as there are in California. However, Section G of Proposal 1 states:
(g) “Primary caregiver” means a person who is at least 21 years old and who
has agreed to assist with a patient’s medical use of marijuana and who has never
been convicted of a felony involving illegal drugs."
(2) for each registered qualifying patient who has specified that the primary
caregiver will be allowed under state law to cultivate marijuana for the qualifying patient, 12 marijuana plants kept in an enclosed, locked facility.
(c) “Enclosed, locked facility” means a closet, room, or other enclosed area
equipped with locks or other security devices that permit access only by a
registered primary caregiver or registered qualifying patient.

Therefore we are looking to provide a safe and affordable way for patients to gain access to the medicine they need. This would involve starting a growing operation. We are going to be a non-profit organization dedicated to providing marijuana to patients, not a business looking to profit. We simply need to build a base of caregivers and patients.
If you are a caregiver or patient and have any questions/comments feel free to contact.
Also looking for anyone interested in Marketing the Home Care Company that we will be starting.
