I find it very surprising that more Americans aren't appalled by the Patriot Act. According to my 10th grade history teacher, shortly after 9-11, one of his friend's wives had FBI agents show up at her door because her e-mail password was "afghan" (she sells afghan rugs). If you guys haven't read "Dude, Where's my Country?" by Michael Moore I would highly recommend it. His investigative journalism reveals a lot about Bush's corporate ties and the administration's strategy of information dominance. Anyone notice how the Homeland Security department's threat level has never gone bellow yellow (a "significant threat"), even though nothing has happened since 9/11? It's the culture of fear....akin to that described by George Orwell in "1984," in which people are encouraged be suspicious about everyone, which we saw many examples of the above post. And it's all justified in the name of the War on Terror.......right.
