using butane will give you the cleanest oil. When using iso or butane, make sure you get the cleanest one possible(look for colibri butane if possible), try putting some liquid on a mirror. If it leaves a residu or smells, you're gonna be smoking that residu or getting that smell.
With alcohol, yeah well you've gotta boil it off(alcohol doesn't evaporate as easy) and the other contents(if it's 70% alcohol there'll be 30% other shit in it) will probably remain...
