My Experience with Oxycontin/codone

Ok, so the story begins with me fracturing my femur, and having to go to the hospital for surgery, they give me the news that i need surgery, and i'm in surgery a day later.

I'm scared shitless of anesthesia, so i'm all worried, but i'm trying not to show it. They get me in the room and i get my IV in me and they anesthetize me, and work their magic on me.

I wake up in the Recovery Room, and immediately begin shaking up and down, i ask the doctor why i'm shaking and he tells me its a sideffect of anesthesia, and gives me one of those little ketchup containers that has pills in it. There's one little pill at the bottom, white, with a little V on it, and a 5 in the middle of the V. The conversation went as follows:

Me; Whats this?

Doctor: Its Oxycontin, it'll help your pain.

Me: Ahhh thank you!

My first thought is "wow! oxycontin, never had this shit before!" I down the pills and wait, the doctor says it will take 20 minutes.

I never had time to experience it. I was so wacked from surgery the pill knocked me out.

I woke up in a hospital ward that was cozy enough, it had been 3-4 hours since i was in the RR. The nurse came in 15 minutes later, pleased that i was up. The nurse checked my vitals, all normal, and asked me how my pain was. I said it was hurting pretty bad, she gave me a scale of 1-10, and i said 5. So the nurse asks me if i want an Oxycodone, and i said i'd love any pill that would help my pain.

Now, for those of you who dont know, Oxycodone is a different pill than Oxycontin, Oxycontin being more powerful and having a different use. Oxycontin is a long acting pain medication, needed only once every 12 hours, and helps blunt the pain, so its not sharp or stabbing. Oxycodone, on the other hand, is a short acting pain medication, taken every 4 hours(by hospital standards) and works at relieving a dull aching pain, which was the worst in my opinion.

The drug didn't actually make me "high", all it did was help my pain and make me pleasantly drowsy.

Have any of you taken Oxycontin or Oxycodone? Recreational or while in the Hospital?

What were your experiences?
