there are ways as poppa was saying to feminise seeds. BTW your light cycle should not exceed 18/6 anyway hahaha i am hardcore on that!!! Anyhow thanks to a good freind BKS for this:
Hi everyone! I figured this is a sight more advanced so I thought I'd post it here. I am a little early in the flowering for smoking stage of my life (without seeds), but I have been a long time breeder of seeds. This method should give you if say you planted 20 seeds: aprox 14-16 should be females (yay!) 1-3 hermies (shruggs) and 1-2 males (boo!). I have found that it takes about 2-3 breeds to get it to that point. Take two female maryjanes (choose your fave and best plants, better genes) and they HAVE to start as females neither can begin as a natural hermie or they can but results are kinda, meh'. Stress one into being a male or a hermie. Allow that male/hermie to polinate your other female plant (oh how wrong does it feel to encourage seeds, I know!) Then your result will be some partialy feminized seeds. Those are okay you'll likely get a good portion of females and a slightly smaller portion of hermies, but now you take two positive females from your partially feminized batch and repeat the process. After that, those seeds should give you female results about 80% of the time! Nothing says you only have to do it with two plants at a time either, grab a good selection of your best girls and stress one into male and get lots o feminized seeds, the possibilities are limitless! This is the way I have been doing it and it's worked okay for me. I hope this little trick 'o' the trade helps you all out! Peace and happy growing! This is still in it's very early stages for me, right now I'm only in my first grow specificaly for harvest w/out seeds stage with the seeds I have bred, but as of yet (for this small batch) I haven't gotten a single hermie or male. I had a scare, thought my beauty of a WW girl was growing balls but it's actualy more of a mutant female who was growing extra pistils and white hair nodes *whew* Maybe it works best for white widow, again I'm very unexperianced. I can tell you though that while I was growing specifically for seeds after my first female stress and polinate the 15 plants I grew for their seeds after that I had 2 males and 4 hermies. That was 9 nice normal (well if I do say so my self I chose some geneticaly nice plants for the stressed and reg girls I used so they were nice and bushy *blush*) females. I stressed one of the regular females and polinated a few of my bushier nicer females and this is where I am right now. Since moving I have only a teeny space to grow but the 2 ww I have both turned into lush girls and one of them is mutantly huge. Then again it could all be luck and I'm just giving myself too much credit. I'm not sure, I'd love it though for others to try this technique with other strains and let us know how it works, I just had heard rumor a couple years back and thought I'd give t a whirl. Maybe it was just the seeds I bought and started from that are doing this in the first place *shruggs* But I encourage others to try and let us know what happens! Thanks for reading, and I appreciate any constructive critisicm anyone has to offer.
BKS is a very talented indoor lady gardener and has a great green thumb most off this info is hers, as i did not feel like typing it out again, but i personally have used these types of methods with great results myself outdoors in my outdoors history.
