Guns in the hands of citizens has made us a much safer society. Compare with Britain where the violent crime incidents are through the roof due to people not being able to defend themselves.
And speaking as someone with zero gun experience, I believe gun trade should be completely unmitigated. That means assault rifles, armor piercing bullets, thermonuclear weapons...

the government wouldn't be so quick to step on our rights, methinks. Even pro-gun people tend to find this position wacky, believing that regulation is necessary to a degree (and disingenuously thinking that it applies only to hunting and minor self-defense), but look at the gangs and cartels in this country. They're usually dealing with automatics, assault rifles, etc., as they can get a hold of virtually anything they please by way of being criminals. Why allow them to have an advantage over law-abiding people?
