So after a little debate with my supervisor I want to ask you all what you think? Do you think the 2nd amendment gives you the right to bear arms? Here is is for the people who do not want to look it up.
Code:
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State,
the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
For one I DO NOT say we should not have guns I have 3 rifles my self!
Only thing I am arguing is the 2nd amendment does not give you the right to bear arms unless under a militia. There has not been a militia in what 75 years? I think that, "Free State "," the right of the people to keep and bear Arms.....etc" is still pertaining to a well regulated Militia not of the people as you and I.
It would be like to me that if I told you I had a red car in my dream. You go and tell everyone I have a red car. But I do not, only in my dream. I feel you can not pick and choose what you want to hear out of a sentence.
My super made a good point though because "of the people" was/has been used a lot to the meaning of you and I like in the pre amble so what do you think?
