Hey great post corpsgrinder! This is something that is commonly overlooked becasue of the end result being undesirable. Quick drying is sometimes the only answer in a worst case scenario situation.

Example: I had to move cities abruptly last year whilst in the late stages of flowering. I needed to sell my home but of course you can't have living Cannabis plants kicking around when potential buyers are viewing. So I had no choice but to speed dry. I purchased a food dehydrator for this, and even though I rarely use it now for drying cannabis it makes some kick ass snacks for a case of the strong Indica buzz munchies (hmmmmm beef jerkey!)

As somewhat of a Cannabis Coinasseur I do not enjoy a quick dried crop at all, it is impossible to rid the bud of its clorophyl with a hasteful dry. Having said that, quick drying is great for testing whether or not your crop is ready to be harvested. I recommend picking buds during the late stages of flowering, quick dry em', smoke it, and decide if you feel it is ready to be chopped or not. Especially for the novice grower becasue they may not understand how trichome development works but have smoked properly grown buds before and know what the effects are supposed to be like.

Peace
