Why this thread is here;
I originally made this thread when I myself was in a deep depression, to help see the good in our society, and confirm that people care about even strangers. The thing is, I don't feel that any blade should feel like a stranger, this is a community, and the people on this list are willing to step up for the good of it (not that one should think less of anyone not listed.)
An increase in suicide threads, and a general "fuck off" attitude on GC during that time, also helped prompt me to make this thread.
Thus the purpose of this thread is simple; to help. You feel like shit? Depressed? Even a petty problem like a harsh break up with your significant other. You can come here, and even if you choose not to seek out someone to actually talk to, you can at least know you are not alone. There are people out there who feel just as you do. More to the point, as is the most important quote of the original Helpline,
there are people who care.

We do not claim to be professionals, or psychologists, or therepists. We are not trying to turn our humble City in to your highschool's counselor's office. We are merely here to let people know that blades stick together, grow together, and of course, smoke together.

There is a time limit in which one can edit a post. That time limit was passed long ago. I can send edits to moderators, however, I need to be able to edit it at my own will and the times of my choosing, for it to work as I would like. On this thread, being that it hasn't already gone to 15+ pages, I will make a reserved post on the second or third page, which I will link to on the first, to extend the list (being that it will be made some time after the first post. I expect the number of new-additions to slow as time goes on anyway, so the edit problem should not exist long enough to warrant a 3rd generation thread, though anything is possible.)

How the Helpline works;
First of all, let it be known that the ACTUAL purpose of this thread is just to show that there are people out there who are willing to listen and do care. Sometimes that's all the help or assurance that one needs. Regardless, it also functions as a resource. The list will consist of member names, which are open to private messages from people looking to talk. Simply copy their name in to the send address of your message. Some members will also choose to list their email or IM name, at which you can also contact them. Some members even are willing to disclose their phone numbers, but for liability, they will not be posted. You will have to inquire if a phone call would be alright with them, or check their post on the helpline to see if they mention "pm me for phone number."
