LOL I hear ya on the nug sandwhich gone, but I was shooting more for nug popsicles and after doing some more research I'm convinced it was in fact the UV lamp that caused the tops to stretch and the new bud growth to be more wispy. I can't say with any certainty why Earl's and AW's UV lights didn't have any effect on their plants, but if had to guess, it's the strength of the bulbs. The UV lamp I'm using gives off a considerable amount of UV-A and UV-B along with a cooler visible light. Equivalent to the amount of UV-B found on the equator at high noon, and about the same amount of visible light as a 20-40w CFL. It's a mercury vapor lamp with an external ballast. I actually got a tan-line from my wrist-watch while fussing with the canopy while the lamp was on... it's strong.

...and thanks screwda, I've been messing with the camera settings to get that effect. It's much more solid dark green in person. It's the combination of HPS + UVB + Flash + Camera Settings that give it the white-blue-green-yellow mix of colors.
