Good question about the crop pestacides possibly contaminating your soil. I am not sure about that. I suppose you will have to try and see what happens. I doubt anyone here knows about the corn pestacide sprays.

However, just get some soil from the plot, put it in a large plastic cup or small pot, and start your seeds in there. Whether that corn field is sprayed or not, it will definitely be better for the plant than the fertilizer stuff you were planning on using before.
