Hey guys - Got my new/better seeds from nirvana on Tuesday - Papaya. I started germinating 5 of them and within 24 hours they all had tails. I let them get about a half inch/inch in the paper towel, then carefully transfered them to the rockwool in which I soaked overnight in 4.5 Ph, I started my system up and put on the lights. Since this is my first hydro I really appreciate any feedback because I keep trying different things/positions for lights and other things hoping to get them to respond well to some little change, but also im hope i dont kill them from too much change..
So last night I noticed that my humidity was way too low (30%) and my temp was kinda high (98). So I threw a fan on it, then put a box in the middle and threw clear wrap over the top of the system held up by the box in the middle. I figured this would create a kind of green house. It worked well, this morning when I woke up the Humidity was 80% and the temp was 91. The only thing is i couldnt get the lights to close to the plants them.
So this morning I figured they might need some air, so i took off the humidity dome and put the lights much closer. What do you guys think the best setup for these growing babies is? Should I throw back on the humidity dome and keep it that way with the lights a foot and a half up for now until they get bigger or should i try to get the lights as close as possible w/out burning them?? Anything helps, Thanks a bunch, Im really glad theres so much support on this site.
