If you can get a cheap one used or whatever, they are worth it

nitrogen soldering makes for much much more even soldering, as it pre-heats. If you demand that you have absolute perfect soldering joints, hakkos are great.

I picked up a complete set up with n2 generator for 100$ through some work connections, if you can get a setup for under 200$ i'd say go for it.
