Jesus an Astronomical Story?
Anybody ever consider this before? It's in the movie Zeitgeist, and theres a fair amount of logic to back it up.
The theory is that Jesus was just part of another astronomical story in which he was the sun. Such as in the story of Horus, Mithra, Krishna, and many others who all have extremely similar stories as Jesus. (Born on Dec 25th of a virgin, preformed miracles and healed the sick, died on the cross and resurrected after 3 days)
The reasoning behind it is that during winter, the sun starts to move south and the days get shorter. On December 23rd the sun stops moving south and lies in a part of the sky called "the crux" which is an alignment of stars in the shape of a cross, representing the death of Jesus. On December 25th, 3 stars (the 3 kings in the bible) line up and point to the direction of the sunrise, representing the birth of Christ.
There are a lot more similarities but thats all I can think of at the top of my head.
