I'd have to disagree by saying humans are both the greatest and worst species to have ever existed. In no other period of time have we as a civilization been so capable of creating or destroying ourselves. Regardless of how wild we are, and I do believe we are nothing short of feral, we are bound to a responsibility that no other creature has ever had control of. We, as humans, are able to expand and deminish our very existence with the flip of a switch, in both death and procreation.
For as incredibly vast our knowledge has grown about the world, I feel our understanding of the inner workings of man have barely been scratched. The final frontier exists within our own mind, and we may never find the vechicle to explore it fully, save for the undying willingness that we all share.
