Some food for thought: People with ADHD type "disorders" in ancient times may have been preferred over "normal" people because of these qualities, because there was no need to be good at concentrating on one thing whereas someone who'd be able to handle many tasks at once would certainly be preferred.

i have adhd and i agree completely.. but in school and cubicle work situations, its bad, even though in most real life situations it really isnt. i am not sure its a disorder, but its a quality that puts me at a major disadvantage. i CANNOT sit down and do a homework assignment without taking my adderall. but i can do lots of other stuff kids without adhd cant do.
do i think its a "disorder"? no. but i dont see a problem giving medacine to kids whose minds work that way. so it can put these kids on an even playing field.
personally, I HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE public schools. and i hate most of the kids in them. none of the teachers care about "teaching" the kids. and the kids dont care about learning. but kids who dont know right from left can get an A in advanced physics but have no real world skills.
i could go on for like 20 pages on reasons why public schools suck. but i cant change it, so i have to take medacine to conform to it. it sucks, its wrong, but what else can i do.
and anyone who says kids with adhd are dumber, or we are "un-evolving" your the dumb ones. your fucking retarded, i have an iq of 130 and i am smarter than most of the kids in my class, but i get poor grades because i cant focus on homework, so i miss 2 assignments and do poorly. but i get like 90-100's on all the tests. so go fuck yourselves.
and weed DOES NOT MAKE YOU DUMB. i know you all know this. but i was kind of on a rant so i felt like throwing that out there. since a lot of kids think that is true.
