Hey Extracurricular, yeah I had no idea I was vegging this long either, its killing me that I haven't switched to flowering yet, these suckers better be females or I can't be responsible for what I do to them. Still probably over 3 months to go. I do have a pump inline and I'm always adding PH up or down, I'm glad that works well but it just won't stay stable, not even close. My last grow that wasn't an issue but this time it always goes far past the recommended levels. Why o why o why, is it a design problem, does kali mist not really like hydro or is it me. I do have a screen basically ready, I'm going to put it in there right after I clone and then switch to flowering a week or so later. The clones will be done in a bubble cloner and then these ones will go into perlite and hopefully one will be the mother. I'm guessing at this point the plants already know if there male or female, at least #1?
Hi Highdro, glad you like it, the best thing about it all is the wheel for moving the light up and down, I highly recommend it. I think your right, my problem likely is PH related. Like I was saying I just can't keep it stable, 24hrs later its always way off the scale, one way or the other. I have a decent pen and I know its working fine. I guess I'm just going to have to check and adjust it more often, I seen an automatic PH adjuster on here somewhere, I could use one of those now. I do have #1 tied down a lot, can't really tell in the pictures but if it wasn't tied down it would be another 6-8" taller at least. I do plan to trim lots this grow, I should have done that more on my first but I think its ok bushy right now as I need clone, I'll be taking quite a few to get these things smaller, don't want to run out of room in the box. Well thanks for the info, definitely helped.
A few other things I wanted to mention. The smell is quite strong already, just about as strong as my last 2 when they were done! Yeah I'm a little worried about this as they haven't even thought about budding yet. The other day I thought I better fill up my filter with activated carbon to see if it even works, I'm happy to say at this point its perfect, all smell is completely gone until you open the cab. I really worked on packing the carbon in. Something very strange happened right after I filled it up. Besides being worried about it working I was worried if my 4" vortex would be up to the task, with the filter empty my temps were 80 - 82f and the filter would not hold a piece of paper like my odorsok would. So my fear was what's going to happen when I fill it up with carbon, no air will go through, seems the opposite has happened. Immediately after filling I noticed the box had a lot more vacuum, when I went to close the doors it sucked it shut, never did it like that before. There's enough suction now to hold both doors closed on its on, thats pretty damm good as the rubber seal pushes it open, it couldn't even think about doing that before. Next day when I opened the cab the temp was down to 76f the same as my bedroom, it has never been that low and has been there since the carbon went in. Am I the only one to find this a little strange? Another thing thats getting better over time is water temperature, its get lower but that was kind of expected. At first I didn't cover the black bucket and the temp got up to 88f or so before I covered it with mylar. After dropping the temp with ice it went back to 75f and stayed there, quite a difference. Now that the plants have basically covered the bucket it down to 69f, I think thats pretty good. Well enough rambling or no one will read all this.
