Need a Push in the Right Direction

Hey guys, this is my first post and let me just say that I love this site!

Anyways I still have a TON a research to do but I wanted to get started on the closest I plan on constructing. I just want to make sure I'm moving in the right direction. Tell me if this looks good.

General Sketch

*measurements are in feet

A = ballast housing
B = cloning area
C = vegging area
D = flowering area

General Plan
-1st grow: purchase 5 seeds and start 3 of them in area C and then move them to D
clone and harvest female plant(s)
-2nd grow: use 6 clones to simultaneously grow 6 plants in area D

So how does the above look?

Lighting
Here are the lighting choices I'm looking into
1000W HPS System $315
400W Ballast (170) Lamp (80) Reflector (35) = $285
I'm leaning towards the 1000W system even though I only really need the 400W one. Its only $30 more and will allow for possible expansion in the future (even though expansion will be far down the road). The only issue I see is the heat generated from the 1000W and thus extra care for proper ventilation would be required.

So tell me what you think so I can get started. Thanks checking out noob_grower's start!
