indica are more of a heavy stone(couchlock stone
) whereas sativas are more celebral ,uplifting highs.(still get things done
)

yeh go for indica for 1st grow ,more forgiving ,as for seeds its really upto you if you buy from seedbank or use bagseeds...............i'd go for seedbank as plenty strains which are cheap & easy to grow mate.
