Klonopin and Cannabis

My boyfriend had a weird medical scare the other day. He was at a Seder for Passover and overheated (in combination with a lot of other things, dehydration and extreme anxiety included) and ended up passing out, in turn scaring the living daylights out of his mom. After talking to his mom, who is the freak out about everything medically type of person, about the circumstances and discussing medical implications with his step dad (who is a radiologist) he got it into his head that it might've been related to some heart problem or something more serious, even though his instincts (and my instincts) told him differently.

To make a long story short, she wanted him to quit smoking weed because she thought that might have aggravated the situation (for the record it was 420 when this happened, but the last time he smoked had been 2 hours before the seder started). They had a really long discussion about why he smoked and she suggested instead of smoking he start using Klonopin (Clonazepam). He's currently quit because he's having some precautionary tests done and getting blood work on Friday (even though he went to see a doctor yesterday who said everything was normal), but if he ends up with a prescription for Klonopin he says he will continue to not smoke because he fears some kind of negative reaction. I have very little experience with pharmaceuticals, either recreationally or for prescription use. I just wondered if anyone had experiences with combining the two, good or bad. I don't want him to keep smoking if he doesn't feel comfortable doing so, and I don't expect him to smoke everyday like we do now, but I'm going to miss smoking with him so I wanted some evidence to show that it may not be as bad as he thinks.
