Except for my first plant last year, I have been training all of my plants to help disguise that typical christmas tree shape. In 5 gal buckets and pots, I drill holes around the lip of the container and use straightened paper clips (the big ones) and stretched out elastic ponytail holders (scuncii thingies) to bend the branches down and around. Instead of a 6+ foot tree, I have lovely 3 foot shrubberies that yield a couple of oz. each.
