Edit: I'm reading up on them on erowid, I guess you can cut them and they regrow (pretty cool) except it says they take forever to grow, so its going to take me like a year to get a good cactus growing. But they are only like $6 so Ill buy one soon.

I actually found 2, 2 ft. cuttings at my nursery, The cactus that im growing right now arent going to be for consumption. I couldnt bring myself to eat a cactus that ive been growing for years.
Keep looking around, you can find mature active cactus.
San Pedro grow very quickly, sometimes 12-16 inches per year. But pedros are one of the quickest growing active species.
