Thanks GigZ. Poppies have the reverse light cycle of MJ. MJ is a late growing plant (starts best in mid-late summer and ends in fall). Poppies on the other hand start in early spring and finish in late summer. So to imitate the natural light cycle of early spring (shorter days and less intense light), they prefer 12/12 for veg. As soon as you want to trigger it to flower (make poppy pods), you switch to 18/6 -- making the plant believe that it is in the middle of summer and needs to hurry up and spread its seed. They also prefer much cooler temperature then MJ but can deal either way. They are a lot of fun. This is my first poppy grow and my seeds were several years old and I made the mistake of planting too many per container. I will post a picture later on for everyone to see.

Thanks!
