I'm sure I will get a million neg reps for saying that. But people on here need to stop thinking it's a gift from god or something, and it's a "cure for cancer" but the government is behind this big conspiracy so it isn't being used as such.
I love herb as much as the next person but I'm also a very realistic person...I do want it to be legalized but not because I think it's gonna save the planet or something lol. It just isn't as harmful as tobacco or alcohol so it's pointless for it to be illegal in my eyes.

Below is something that I posted in another thread that I feel is sort of fitting here also. I wont argue about the health benefits of marijuana on cancer because I'm not a scientist and I only know what I've heard. I can tell you from personal experience that it has been a wonder drug for my Lyme Disease. You also can't deny the positive economical impact it could have on societies like the US if it were legal. If nothing else marijuana legalization could save our society from destroying itself with economic recession and irrational drugs laws that ruin lives. Is that saving the world? I don't know but it certainly is a good start if you ask me.

If marijuana were legal it could literally save the American family farmer, create jobs that were not there before in hundreds of other hemp industries like processing and manufacturing, i.e. paper, fabric, rope, building materials, food products, oils and fuels for automotive and industrial use, etc. plus it would keep more American dollars in the U.S. by eliminating the need to import hemp products. Production of hemp oil could reduce our dependency on foreign oil, and as mentioned we would save billions by not having to arrest and incarcerate non-violent marijuana offenders, the taxation on MJ sold for recreational use at both the state and national level . . . . . The list goes on and on, those are just a handful of ways marijuana can bring us out of a recession. I'm not even going to get into the positive environmental benefits. It's just like our pal Jack Herrer says "marijuana can save world."
