In the grand scheme of things, we are very very small. I wouldn't say that makes us insignificant or not special, but we should perhaps feel humbled by the incomprehensible vastness of the universe in which we live. It puts things in context. There is so much out there, just waiting for us. Maybe one day we will be out there.
