boston and detroit have pretty much clinched the east. you have to realize that a lot of the losses for boston/detroit come from the western teams.
West is where all the hard hitters are right now. A single loss can drop a team several rankings. I love how all the media is predicting who will win and who's the best right now. Watching how these western teams are winning by margins and pure luck in the fourth quarter from unexpected fouls and turnovers shows me that the "Best in the West" is still up in the air.
If i had to pick two strong and consistent teams in the west.. it would be the Lakers and Spurs, most experience and both look very strong. NO is doing well but i dont' think they have the playoff experience needed to go all the way. Utah and Dallas are great but they struggle too much with top tier teams. Phoenix, to me at least, is just out of chemistry. Shaq has not made that dominant impact and i where marion helped them, they haven't filled that "role". Rockets are done for now that yao ming is injured. Last thing i would say is that be careful of the lakers when bynum returns, then will be the time to see what potential the lakers really have.
