the unpopular idea: Humans, too many of you.
it's not an idea you hear said alot, because... well, most people are human, or know some humans they like, or are really close to some humans who are actively in the process of adding more humans.
"Humans, too many of you. someone needs to point that out by the way"
- Bill Hicks.
Some people have taken to various ideas that it's some kinda of dogmatic "social Darwinist" cult-like duty to kill off 80-90% of the world's population... idk of they are talking all life, or just the humans. either way, i dont think they have the correct answer. not really viable unless done on a voluntary basis. but that's not what they are attempting to put into action as far as i have seen.
so what about this idea of stop making so many new humans....?
again, it's gotta be voluntary... but people arent going to volunteer lest they comprehend the need to...? or is that an ineffective approach to take?
how about it be explained that the need to procreate comes from a survival urge, a reccognition that we in this state are dying off pretty quickly and need to create new replacement humans that are perhaps more likely to be selected from birth to be more suited to the environment and more addaptive...........? or maybe if we got closer to immortality in ourselves, we simply wouldnt have this procreation survival drive?
perhaps.
or how about extending our ability to accomodate so many... that would need some remarkable resources management here on earth, or it means expanding to elsewhere....
anyone know anywhere else with an oxygen rich atmosphere?
what other options are available to us besides this three areas explored here?
