Hairs or spikes? Stipules (spikes) will always appear first,then preflowers in the form of lil balls OR lil pods which will boast the fine white hairs meaning female.Males typically will pre-sex sooner than females,but be careful not to sex the plant incorrectly.Some female plants look just like males but soon show hairs.Your growth time means its in the pre-flower phase and if this node development is the first thing you have seen its the stipules,after that and you will see pre-flowers.As the pic. JCJ will clearly show.
