harsh man, real harsh. not an enviable possition to be in by anymeans. i reccomend ... when u feel able, talk to her about it. if she's kind and understanding, then you'll be fine. if she takes the piss, then she's not worth knowing and its no loss to you at all. as to when u feel comfortable to talk about this to her.... maybe not today, maybe not tommorow, maybe not in a decade... but you will be able to, the ability is there. heck, maybe nothing need even be said. u might just see it in her eyes and nothing need ever be said.

if she's anything but amicable about it though, like i said, its no loss to you.
