Recent events in my life have forced me to re-examine some aspects about buying/smoking herb. I would like to talk a little bit about shitty herb.

Shitty herb is a part of life. A very important part of life because it is what 95% of potheads smoked for their first time. Without shitty weed, we wouldn't know what dank herb is...there would just be...herb.

A couple days ago I purchased an eighth from my dealer. He also happens to be my best friend in addition to being my dealer for 5+ years. I trust his judgement so when he says something costs this much, I don't argue. However, this eighth was not up to par. But we'll get into that later......

The fall is my favorite time of year.... the weather in New England is perfect. The surroundings are scenic and beutiful.... and the outdoor herb flows freely. (I've said before and always will.... the best bud I EVER smoked was outdoor trainwreck.) Over the last 2 months or so I have been buying, without any hassles, outdoor hashplant ($50/eighth) and some random heady indoors ($60/eighth). But then all that ended.

As it turns out, my dealer's dealer's partner got fucking murdered in a very well-off area of Connecticut. He went to sell herb to some undesireables and they tried to rob him. He struggled, then they fucking shot him in the chest. He died on the way to the hospital. As a direct result, my dealer's dealer had to go to another source. And from that other source came my shitty herb.


Ya know when you get a bag thats full of buds that have been severely under-manicured, super whispy and stemmy, smells like hay and doesn't get you high?? Well thats what I got for 50 beans. I can only assume my buddy had this bud sprung on him because I find it hard to believe he would buy a q.p. of this garbage.


So I was thinking a lot about shitty bud. In my opinion, there are only 2 valid reasons why weed gets shitty....

1) The grower doesn't know what he/she is doing

2) The grower doesn't care about the product and thinks he's slick selling and making 60%+ profit.

Much more often it is the latter. We all know that dealers step all over coke and dope. Thats life. Thats how scumbags make money off addicts. To me, not putting the minimal effort into growing pot is a way dealers can 'cut' their product. If the grower knows what he is doing and still neglects the plants, he is cutting the herb.

All dealers look for ways to scam and make more cash. Growing herb incorrectly and passing it off as quality is one way. Another way is to not manicure their bud AT ALL!! For some crazy reason unbeknownst to me, people seem to think that bud with leaves all over gives it bag appeal. WRONG!!! It is the calling card of either a scheming grower, or lazy uninformed lame excuse for a grower. There are only two things you get from leaving leaves on the bud..... a pain in your wrist from manicuring, and shitty tasting bud.

There can't possibly be one TRUE pothead on this forum that thinks leaves are beneficial. Any TRUE pothead would take the time out (especially if its a headstash) to properly manicure their buds. Nugs without leaves all over it saves time when packing bowls, and lets the smoker actually see the crystally buds. After all, the trichomes riddle calyxs are what gets you high. Leaves don't add anything.


And why do dealers feel the need to bulk up their bags with 1-2" stems that have one calyx on the end of it?? Do they think they're slick?? The only thing that does is cause them to lose a customer and get reputation as a schemer. I have an obligation as a pothead. Every pothead has an obligation.... do unto other's herb as they would do unto yours. Basically, don't give/sell bud that you wouldn't want yourself.


Have you ever had a dealer hike up the price because he gave a front?? What the fuck is that?? For instance..... a bag cost 50$. You have no money until 3 days from now so you ask the for it on the arm...... the dealer then charges an extra 5$ because its a front. What reason does any person have to over charge for herb simply because its a front?? Does it cost that dealer 5 bux to front a bag?? NO! And saying its interest/collateral/anything else is bullshit. If the dealer thinks he might get burned.... DONT FRONT IN THE FIRST PLACE!!

There are so many reasons to grow your own bud.... but if you only need one, its because you can control the product. If you pull some Macgyvers it can be cheaper than a bag. I say us potheads start a revolution..... boycott the asshole dealers. And if a dealer is reading this......oh well.

To me, there is no such thing as shwag, mids, regs, and dank. Its only garbage, beasters, outdoors and headies. I can't remember the last time I smoked herb that had seeds in it. I won't even allow that kind of herb in my pipes. I don't know why people insist on growing/selling/smoking it. If everyone boycotted shit weed in addition to asshole dealers, maybe one day there would only be headies.
