You'll get what you want out of the trip regardless of what I write bro. My review still isn't complete I've taken a second or two to jot down some general impressions thus far but I have a lot more to say, be sure of that yo. The stuff at the Cup itself was excellent, geez they were passing out joints like they were dropping from the sky like raindrops. The smoke hung in the air like London fog as thick as pea soup, I bet the contact high alone could have put someone in a coma.

I was going to go this year but I decided to go early December instead. I heard about it (the cannabis cup) being poor from a few people and I decided instead of wasting money on passes and goodies etc. from expo I could spend it on weed and in places I know to get good deals etc.
Onto your point about america having stronger weed. I can't really debate this as I've never been but I have smoked some Cali bud that I "acquired" from a friend overseas and also some Canadian bud. The cali one was a medicinal strain and it was awesome and the canadaian strain was just from a grower over there and it too was great. From what i've sampled the weed on that side of the world seems pretty damn good. It tastes like its being looked after properly
I've lived in the netherlands and the weed over there is great but... you need to find the right coffeeshop and to do this it needs to be outside of amsterdam if you ask me. The Dam is the mecca for most so the weed is often well overpriced and not as good quality wise but I think thats down to demand and supply, like someone said maybe the growers over their have lost their ways and are in it more for the money that anything else. You can find good weed but you need to go a few times or preferbly live there
In america because your getting it illegally on the streets I think people grow better stuff to insure they have their buyers, in the dam because you can buy it in shops I think the stuff is going to be weaker. The more available it is possibly the weaker it is. Cause i'm sure anyone who's supplying coffeeshops is growing for buisness and not fun and of course the weed can taste like it came from a production line (grown quickly and nuked with nutes and then not dried properly)
But I think the netherlands is good for anyone wanting to grow their own high potent weed. if you live there then you have a lot of access to seeds/grow equipment/advice etc. I've smoked some homegrown over there that was from only a small grow by a friend and his stuff was nicer than that in the shops.
Grow your own I say. Oh and I agree with the person who said the hash is great over there. I'm okay in ireland as I can get good weed but good hash is rare as hell. I love the soft stuff in the dam and theres an ice-o-lator I tried that I can only describe as the heroin of the hash world. Knockout hash!

Good post, good points.

There's something to this really, I think the experience is actually heightened since for many stoners Amsterdam is the culmination of their smoking experience. I've had a similar feeling as I've walked along these narrow streets, a feeling of fulfilment, a feeling of complete euphoric satisfaction.

I'm still trying to make it to as many Coffeeshops as possible. It's actually getting a bit expensive buying all this weed and even more burdensome smoking it. I'll let you know more as I update this thread. Also, don't come to the Dam for the weed alone bro, but if that's what you are coming for, you'll find the open-mindedness of this place far more intoxicating.

That video was very informative, liked it a lot.
I have a friend who went to Amsterdam a few months ago and he said the same thing. The weed wasn't that great, but the hash was intense. He was there for a month and couldn't find anything that equals the 90 dollar eigths of potent Kush down here in socal. I still want to go and judge the weed, that's gotta be so much fun.

Yeah, sounds about right. I still haven't found anything in the shops that comes within the same realm as the organic buds that I grow myself. We'll see though, I'm going to be headed home soon so I better get to smoking.
Stay green.
