My names Dan, I'm posting this because I recently read a thread about someone who was contimplating suicide, and I think this is a great idea. I've been through a fair amount of rough patches. At one point I had planned to OD myself, In March I was sent to an age 13-18 pysch hospital for drug abuse and anger resulting from addiction and withdrawal from oxycontin. I spent alot of time listening to peoples problems there and helping talk them through stuff.
My first roomate was completely insane. At one point he showed me a rope he made by tieing and weaving shreads of clothing, which he told me, "was to hang himself." He had been in and out of these kinds of places most of his 14 year old life; I probablly would have felt the same way trapped in that prison that long. However, I talked him out of his suicidal state and got him to give me the rope. Another day the moniters forbid him from talking, so I learned some basic sign language from him to keep him from freaking out.
Since then I've done alot of meditating and exporing my psyche and I feel as a result I understand the thoughts and reasoning of others as well as myself. I really like to help people, its one of the few things that makes me happy. Im online at random points all through the 24 hours. My phone is always on, so if you're in a bad spot ask for my number, and if at any point you feel you may hurt yourself, call me around the clock.
