what is the quietest exhaust fan out there?? i'm thinking of an exhaust fan in the 170-200cfm range...

i hear that vortex is the quietest but i want an in depth investigation into the issue

anybody up to the challenge?
The best way to achieve your goal would be to buy a larger fan a Dayton or a Vortec and run the power to it thru a dimmer switch......the lil' ones depend on high RPM to move the air...with the larger fan and the dimmer you can turn the fan down until it is almost silent.

You should use a 1/4 gasket between the fan and any hard surface Wood/Sheetrock etc.

That should "shut things up a bit"
