Baking Soda for Mold?

Hey whats up all,
So, I got a little mold on my white widdow, it's a real bushy plant and I spotted a little mold on some of the lower leaves yesterday. A friend of mine said he successfully used baking soda as a remedy, and the Cervantes book recommends it as well, but it's a little vague on how to best apply it.

Has any on ever tried it as a mold remedy? I dusted the plant pretty good with it, to get good coverage, then sprayed a little water on it this morning to try to spread the stuff out. Any advice?
