leaves yellowing, curling, and some brown tips.

OK here goes. I'm in an odd situation. I'm new and you MUST KNOW the story in order to give advice.

i knew this person who was growing some plants. everyday he scavenged the plants and stole thier bud. every since it started budding. i eventually came into posession of them.

the problem: the leaves are yellowing (mostly at the bottom , but it seems like the rest of one of the plants is becoming more lighter too). some of the bottom leaves are curling, and one plant ( the dankest, althought it looks highly deformed and looks entirley different than a traditional pot plant ( five fingered leaves)) has slighlty brown ends and some brown spot, although this plant has always exhibited these traits.
these are the problems with the smaller plants.

with my other type of plants (two rather large plants) : they (one in particular) seems two have a very slow time producing bud. but they seem much healthier than the smaller ones.

small plants = 6" - 2 ft

larger plants = about 2- 3 1/2 ft

note: i am completely new to growing, they are outdoor plants, in pots, i dont know for sure how much to water them. PLZ HELP, i have grown quite fond of them and i thoroughly enjoy taking care of them.

Im thinking that the problem may be partly from the constant robbing of the bud, which my common sense seems to tell me puts alot of stress on the plants. i have had the plants for about a week now.
