If we were created, then obviously evolution and natural selection are simply tools used to populate the universe with life. But there is no evidence to suggest that such a creator was sitting around fine tuning this or that to bring about anything specific. There is no solid evidence that there is even a creator. While I do believe it is possible, I cannot argue that it is certainty, because at this point it is impossible to know that.
